Recovering After a Brazilian Butt Lift: Our Top Three Tips
Are you considering a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) to enhance the shape and fullness of your buttocks? The procedure does help you achieve a more contoured and confident silhouette, but a smooth recovery process is essential to ensure the best outcome.
Here at Lansdowne Aesthetic Center, we offer these three tips for recovering after a Brazilian butt lift to help you heal effectively and maintain your beautiful results.
1. Sit correctly post-surgery
One of the most important aspects of your recovery is avoiding direct pressure on your buttocks during the healing period. Sitting directly on your buttocks can compromise the fat cells transferred during the procedure, potentially negatively affecting your results.
We recommend you use a specially designed Brazilian butt lift pillow that supports your thighs while keeping pressure off your buttocks. Use this pillow whenever you need to sit, especially during the first two to four weeks post-surgery.
Sit for as short of sessions as possible during the initial recovery phase, and alternate between standing and lying down to reduce strain on the treated area. Avoid sleeping on your back for at least six weeks to protect the newly transferred fat cells.
2. Follow a healthy lifestyle
Your body needs proper nourishment and care to heal efficiently. Supporting your recovery with a healthy lifestyle can enhance your results and ensure long-term satisfaction.
We recommend steps like drinking plenty of water and eating nutritious foods to promote tissue repair and overall healing.
Avoid smoking and alcohol, both of which interfere with your recovery and negatively impact your body’s ability to retain the transferred fat cells.
3. Follow your post-operative instructions
Healing takes time, and it’s essential to be patient with your body as it recovers. Adhere to our guidelines regarding activity restrictions, medications, and follow-up appointments.
Refrain from heavy lifting, intense workouts, or high-impact activities for at least six to eight weeks.
Pay attention to the site of your procedure. Swelling and bruising are normal after a BBL, but if you notice signs of infection, excessive pain, or other concerns, contact our office promptly.
We may also recommend you wear compression garments to reduce swelling, improve circulation, and help the treated areas maintain their new shape. We’ll give you detailed instructions as to when and how long to wear these items.
